Day 40: Hoofed it 9 miles to Mulkey Pass and then followed the trail down and ended up a bit off trail but turned around and blazed a trail across this meadow to get back on track. Saw a cute little marmot hangin out! Jim, Richard, Applesauce, Rambo, Bradley, Stik, Stayin Alive and myself all hung out in the parking lot of Horseshoe Meadow in search of a hitch down into Lone Pine. A white van pulled up and had no room for us but proceeded to pass out ice cold craft beers!! Wow. We threw the tennis ball around and a couple people from the group went down the road in search of cell service to call about a ride incase we couldn't hitch. Before you know it all 8 of us are in the back of this guys white ford ranger that was equip with rails for us to hold onto. One big highlight of the trip for sure!! Beautiful view descending 6,500 ft. To Lone Pine with the wind in our faces:) you could feel the temp go up a ton as we swerved down the 25 mile road to our destination. Taking a zero here and then we summit Mt. Whitney!!!

Rich and I shared a room in the motel side of the Dow Villa in room 109. The jacuzzi is open 24/7!! Didnt end up going into the hiker infested waters though:/ looked a bit too dirty for a dip... My dude Clark Kent blessed a guitar while I fed a few fellow hikers some lyrics followed in between verses by Benjamin who layed out a chorus off the top;) good times!!!

I drank too much coffee this morning lol.

Mt. Whitney is the second to last little peak on the right after those 2 jagged lines. It's gonna be good!!
